Zea mais. A beautiful corn developed by Ira Hooker in the 1950s. Adapted to cool wet conditions. 4-4.5 foot stalks produce ears that are 5-7 inches long. Sweet flavour is delicious fresh and also is excellent for drying and grinding into corn flour. Kernels start white, then turn yellow, then pink (when most flavourful), then purple and finally dry to a dark blue. 75-80 days
